Last Spring, we were house hunting and then moving into our house. So we didn’t have as much time for Spring activities as we do this year. Now that we are settled into our house, we have time to focus on more activities!
Living in the Pacific Northwest, I’m adjusting to having true seasons (as opposed to the southwest where our seasons are either hot or not as hot haha). I actually find myself looking forward to spring and summer here. Spring is rainy and still fairly chilly, and summer is beautiful and sunny.
Spring Activities Bucket List
Strawberry Picking. Oregon strawberries are THE best! Once June was over last year I found myself impatiently waiting for June to roll around again just so we can indulge in more strawberries. We did pick strawberries last spring and we will definitely be doing it again this year.
Acquire baby chicks. Whoops, we did this early! Check out my post here on our baby chicks!
Garden Started. My husband built a greenhouse for me and we’ve been working on starting seeds. We are also in the process of adding dirt to our raised garden beds so we can start our garden.
Take stock of canned goods. I went a little nuts last year and made so. much. jam. and fruit butter. I need to do a check to see what we still have left.
Splash in puddles. One of my kids’ favorite things about living here is getting to wear rain boots a lot and splashing in lots of puddles.
Easter Egg Hunt. We may do this at home instead of a public event. UPDATE: Done! We did our hunt around our property this year. Who knew having so many trees would be great for hiding eggs? Plant Flowers. I want to put up some hanging flower baskets and plant baskets of flowers around the property. UPDATE: Done! I’ve been working on planting flowers all around the property. Pictures to come soon!
Fence Garden. To keep the deer out. We’ve been measuring how much we need to fence and pricing fencing. Geez, deer, can’t you just be polite and stay out of the garden?
Go to the Coast. I mean, we can do this all year I just wanted to add it so we have a reason to go again haha.
Plant grass. We pulled up all the bark mulch from our front walk way and it’s now a weird compacted muddy area. We need to till the dirt up and plant grass seed.
What’s on your Spring bucket list?
